Every journey has a start, and ours started 13 years ago. Even before our first daughter was born we knew we needed to change the way we lived in order to be able to provide for her and our growing family. Here we are so many years later and life has changed in ways we never imagined. My wife never thought she would call her self a homesteader as well as a home schooler, and I never thought I would be splitting time between a high tech IT security job, and tending to the needs of farm animals. The dichotomy was jarring at first, but now we could not imagine life any other way. God has been pushing and prodding me to share my knowledge and experience for many years, and this blog is the result. I hope you will join my family and me on this journey through our life and the Lord’s green Earth.

What drove us most to such a drastic but strengthening change was what we saw around us. Our family has survived the plight of communist occupation, and we see those tel tail markers now in our great USofA. We know all to well the hardship and suppression that will come when following such a path, and have decided to adjust our life to weather the coming storm as best as the Lord allows.
